Today is a very sad day for all Search and Rescue Dog Associations in the UK. Hamish MacInnes makes his final journey from Fort William to a private funeral ceremony in Glasgow. He will pause at Glencoe and also at his home before travelling south.
SARDA Scotland is proud to have had Hamish as our President for many years. He was instrumental in creating our Association over 50 years ago in 1965 and he continued to maintain strong ties throughout his life with both us and other SARDAs across the UK. He was a huge figure with Scottish Mountain Rescue and with so many other mountain groups. His legacy will live on for a long time! We feel privileged to have known him and to have shared time with him. He was a great character, much admired and respected by all our handlers. He will be sadly missed.
