Annual Course: 25 – 27 March 2011 Glencoe
This weekend we held our annual assessment course for dogs and handlers in training. Our thanks to SARDA Lakes and SARDA England for providing independent assessors (Brian and Ian). The sun shone and the rain stayed away, although light and variable winds made it hard work for dogs and handlers under assessment.
Congratulations to Angus for winning the “shield” for best new dog team and to Mike for becoming fully a qualified dog handler. We were also pleased to confirm Benny, as a fully qualified handler, who joined us from SARDA England when he moved to Scotland.
. Our thanks to the staff of the Kingshouse Hotel for their hospitality and support during the weekend and assessment.
The weekend was sad in that we said farewell to handlers who are retiring from being active search dog handlers: Jan Millar and Neil Ross. We say thank you for your dedication and support.
It’s been a busy winter for dogs and handlers and, as the snow retreats, both dogs and handlers are looking forward to some rest. Meanwhile, a new batch of puppies are growing fast and training for these starts in May.
We wish all our supporters a happy and safe Summer.
