Bravos

SARDA train dogs and handlers and a necessary requirement to complete this work is the help and assistance from volunteers who go out onto the hillside and hide so that the dogs and handlers can be trained in finding people on the hill.

The dogs use toys as a training aid which is used as a reward when the dog has found the person. The idea is to use the basic instinct of the dog in hunting.
The dogs can get quite hyper with their toys and they love to find the bravo and get to play.

The bravos are put out into an area set up by the assessors. The then call up the dog handler and tell them the area they have to search. The handlers do not know were the bravos are and have to cover the area based on the terrain and wind direction.
