Annual Course 2013

The annual assessment course was held at the Kings House in Glencoe from March 14th to 17th.

During the course, seven dogs were under assessment. Of these, two achieved novice
search dog grade, and were added to the call out list, and four moved up to full search dog
grade. All the dogs being assessed had to complete a number of tests, including a stock test and eight searches, as well as familiarisation with pyrotechnics.

Pete and Gem received the Madras Trophy for best novice dog.

Our thanks go to all the people who helped to make the course a success, and to all those who
give us invaluable help throughout the training year. These include our ‘casualties’, who lie
out on the hill all year round for the dogs to find, and our two supporters, The Order of St
John and Burns Pet Nutrition. Also a big thank you to The Kings House Hotel for once again
making us feel so welcome and enabling us to run the course from their premises.
