Training Weekend 9-10 February 2013

Training last weekend took place in the Cairngorms.  Dogs were put through their paces locating ‘casualties’ buried under the snow.  For some of the young dogs it was the first time that they had experienced this type of work.

Handlers worked  hard too, practising techniques used in avalanche searching using probes and transceivers.  It was a very busy weekend with handlers responding to calls for assistance in four other searches, as well as being put on standby for an avalanche.
